Disclosures & terms of use

Last updated: August 2026.

What this site is

Treatment Locators is a search tool: we gather and publish information about detox, rehab, and addiction treatment programs across the United States so people can find them. That is the entire scope of what we do. We are not a hospital, a clinic, a detox unit, a medical practice, or a counseling agency, and no medical, psychiatric, psychological, or therapeutic service is provided by us at any point. In an emergency, or if you are having thoughts of hurting yourself, call 911 or dial 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline instead of using this site.

Nothing here is medical advice

The articles, withdrawal overviews, explanations of care levels, and facility pages on this site exist to give you general background so you know where to look next. None of it diagnoses a condition, sets out a plan of treatment, or replaces care from a licensed professional. Browsing or searching here creates no patient, client, or professional relationship of any kind with Treatment Locators. Do not postpone getting help, and do not discontinue a prescribed medication, on the strength of something you read on this site. Suddenly stopping alcohol, benzodiazepines, or certain other substances can be medically dangerous — speak with a clinician before you do.

Where the listings come from, and their limits

Entries are assembled from sources that are already public: SAMHSA's treatment locator data, the licensing registries maintained by individual states, accrediting organizations, and what providers publish themselves. Our goal in any given area is breadth — every licensed program we can identify, rather than a short hand-picked selection.

We visit no facilities, audit no facilities, and score, rank, endorse, or stand behind none of them. A program appearing in these results is not us recommending it and is not an assurance of its quality, current licensure, safety, or the results you would get there. Phone numbers, addresses, offered services, accreditations, and the groups a program serves all change without anyone telling us, so some entries will be dated or incomplete. Use a listing as a lead to follow, then confirm the specifics with the program itself and with the licensing board in your state before you commit to anything. Noticed an error? Let us know and we will look into it.

Our relationship with the helpline

Providers are not charged to be listed, and placement cannot be bought. The general helpline number on this site is answered by Balance Recovery, a treatment provider partly owned by our ownership group.

Using it is optional — every facility profile lists that program's own number, and SAMHSA's free national helpline at 1-800-662-4357 is available 24/7 with no connection to us.

Paying for treatment

Financial advice is outside what we do, and we are in no position to quote a price or confirm what a plan will cover. Whatever this site says about cost or insurance is general context and nothing more. The bill for any care you arrange is yours, so settle coverage, whether the program is in network, and your expected out-of-pocket amount with both the provider and your insurer before you are admitted.

What you may and may not do here

This directory is here for your own personal, non-commercial search for care. It is not here to be scraped, copied in bulk, resold, or republished elsewhere. Do not pose as a facility, file corrections or feedback you know to be untrue, or interfere with the operation of the service. The writing, the design, and the compiled database are our property; the names and logos of individual programs remain the property of those programs.

Outside links, and no warranties

Where we point to another website, a helpline, or a government resource, we do it to save you a search. Those destinations are outside our control, and their content and practices are not our responsibility. This site and its contents are made available "as is," with no warranty of any kind, whether stated or implied, as to accuracy, uptime, or suitability for any particular purpose. So far as the law permits, Treatment Locators accepts no liability for loss, injury, or damages connected to your use of this site, to any entry within it, or to treatment you receive from a provider you located through it.

Updates to this page

As the directory changes, these disclosures and terms will change with it. If you keep using the site after a revision is posted, you are agreeing to the revised version. Anything unclear? Get in touch through the contact page.
